Lulpijp / Lul-pijp / Lul-pijpe (f)
(with) definite article: deFrom Early Dutch "lollen" [to hum] ?; According to WNT, "synonyms of Lullepijp".NB¹: Boone mentions the defective spelling (lul-pijp), referring to Kiliaan, who locates lul-pijpe in Holl. [i.e. prov. Holland], Sicamb. [Sicambië*] and Zeland [prov. Zeeland], considering it a synonym of "ruyſch-pijpe" (➺ Ruysch-pijpe), whilst referring to Tibia vtricularis; *NB²: According to Boone, "Sicambië is the Land of Cleves, Gelre and Gullik [sic]" [in Germany; ws], and in K. ter Laan, »Encyclopedisch woordenboek voor Groot-Nederland« ('s-Gravenhage, 1937) the definition of Sicambren reads: "old Germanic [Teutonic] tribe between [the rivers] Lippe and Lahn", which seems to imply that this German region (!) is (or was) known as Sicambrien, instead [➺ internet source!]; NB³: ➺ related terms.
