From E. [Emidio] Affinati, “Ferentino mè non [sic; nun (?)] pò muri” (in Domenico Torre, »Medicina popolare e civiltà contadina...« (Roma, 1994)), in which the term is explained as "... from Latin «utriculus» = cornamusa". NB: The poet Felice Cupini (1901-???) mentions the term in [at least] 2 of his poems: »Gli prussepi« [The crib] (1920), verse 3, and »Natalu« [Christmas] (1918).
