Literally: "bagpipe with a point"; According to Domenico Morello, this term is used in the Gioia Tauro plain for the Romanella, because it is not provided with a key, adding that the term "puntu" refers to the fingerhole; NB: The Gioia Tauro plain (locally called "A Chjiana") is an area in prov. Reggio Calabria [between Vibo Valentia and Palmi].
