According to Elsner/Jabès, one of the "An den Badan angeschloßene Ansatzrohre" [Embouchure pipes [?] connected to the Badan]; NB¹: Without detailed information this definition is, in my opinion, rather inadequate as well (➺ Ḫazna) and, consequently, confusing!; NB²: The author states that the term is a borrowing from the classical music tradition, and that, to avoid misunderstandings, it should be noted that other names also exist according to regional tradition; NB³: ➺ Qasaba / Qaṣaba and Rast [synonyms?].
