Born [and lived?] in Cegni [SW of Voghera, Valle Staffora, prov. Pavia]; A farmer, he was companion of pifferaio Damiano Figiacone (They also formed a trio with accordionist Angelo Mottini "Giolo") and of pifferaio Giacomo Sala "Jacmon"; With the latter he performed, 1932, in Tortona for the living nativity scene of Don Orione; In some sources he is referred to as Carlo Sala, but researches among families and in archives of Cegni has shown that this name is inaccurate; NB: ➺ Giovanni Raffo.
