Born and lived in Caldirola (Curone valley, prov. Alessandria); In addition to being a farmer, he was called to play, in the winter season, in many villages, also in Liguria, with his partner, pifferaio Paolo Pelle "Brigiottu", after whose death (1903) he also played with pifferaio Giacomo Sala "Jacmon", who also accompanied him at the time of his historic meeting with accordionist "Giolo" (➺ Carlo Buscaglia); Gioielli, who only refers to him as "a Raffo detto Müsetta", states that "a chanter of a Müsa piemontese, belonging to him, has been discovered".
