Born [and lived?] in Istebna-Filipionka; A piper and maker of Gajdy; Grandfather of violinist Monika Wałach, née Bocek (*1966); One of his instruments is documented in Mieczysław Gładysz, »Zdobnictwo metalowe na Śląsku« [Metal decorating in Silesia] (Kraków, 1938), p.113 (detailed drawing); This Gajdy is now in the collection of the State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw; Katarzyna & Maciej Szymonowiczowie also mention a "young piper, Jakub Bocek "Boco" (*1994) of Mosty" [S of Jablunkov (CZ); A relative of Józef?; ws], who was born in Třinec [SSE of Český Těšín/Cieszyn] in Moravian Silesia (CZ), very close to the border with Poland [NNW of Istebna], but lived in Mosty u Jablunkov (CZ), adding that "He plays a Gajdy made by Pavel Číp of Zubří [W of Rožnov pod Radhoštěm; ws] in Moravian Wallachia, CZ".
