Born and lived in Jaworzynka [SW of Istebna]; Originally a violinist, he played, at the turn of the 20th century, together with piper Jura Małyjurek, to whom he was related; At that time they were called the "Klimasy" of Jaworzynka; When Jura died, Jan inherited his Gajdy and started to play as a piper, in Jaworzynka and neighbouring villages, together with violinist Pavel Krenżelok of Hyrczawa [i.e. Hrčava; ➺ Jan Krężelok "Skotniorek"]; NB¹: ➺ Pavel Zogata "Gajdek" (CZ); NB²: ➺ Relationship between familes Małyjurek and Zogata.
