Born in Kamesznica [SW of Żywiec]; Katarzyna & Maciej Szymonowiczowie inform us that he was "probably born at the end of the 19th century. There’s little information about this piper, [but] we know that he played together with violinist Józef Szczotka of Milówka, so he may also have played in the latter’s regional ensemble. He probably did not make bagpipes, because the instrument on which he played came from Istebna" [i.e. Probably made by either Jan Kawulok "uod Wojtosza", Jan Krężelok [1] "Pendyja", or Jan Krężelok [2] "Skotniorek"; ws].
