Born in Newsham; Son of Henry; His main contribution was the invention of an alternative placing of the keys (compared to that of Robert Reid), which he needed to accommodate the extended number of keys, required for his virtuoso playing; NB: ➺ Tommy Breckons, James Hall, Richard Mowat, and Thomas Todd.
