Tončev, Minko Nikolov
1896-? [>1973]piper (&c.) mentioned by name
Lived in Nikolovo (municipality Ruse); Like Petko Balev, Vasil Minčev and Vǎlčo Ivanov Vǎlčev, he played a Čifte gajda, but his chanter (basic tone: f¹) has, at the left side of the 3rd fingerhole (from above), a "fleahole" and also a 2nd thumbhole with a "lamella" that, according to Todorov, "serves to pitch a second voice higher than that of a drone"; NB: Not having had the opportunity to examine and hear the instrument, I’m unable to provide the reader with a clearer description.
Instrument: Čifte gajda
