Born in Cabras (prov. Oristano); A shepherd, he was, according to Weis Bentzon, "more a singer than a launeddas player, but an enthusiastically active folk musician" and one of his truest friends at Cabras; Dore, who calls him "Francesco", describes him (in »Launeddas« (a cura di Giampaolo Lallai)) as a "virtuoso of the instrument, endowed with an uncommon musical ear" and the "sole representative of the new generation".
