1937: retired ca.1895; Lived in Cirkvena; Considered to be the village’s best piper "ever"; He told Širola that pipers traditionally used to play alone, but that they had been joined, at a later stage, by an "egedu" (from Hungarian "hegedü" [violin/fiddle]), that the tambura, more recently, had "chased away" the bagpipes, and that at that time none of the few still living pipers played anymore.
