Born in Koniaków-Szańce, he became a farmer; His grandfather was also a gajdosz, but his father taught him to play the Gajdy, which was bought from its builder, "stary" Wojtas in Kamesznica [ENE of Koniaków], and later went to his son Paweł; Information in Szymonowiczowie seems to imply that he is the oldest piper of the region of whom recordings are available in the archives of the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences; NB: ➺ Sziańcziarski gajdy.
