Seivane Rivas, Xosé Manuel

Born in Fonmiñá (A Pastoriza, prov. Lugo) he started, in 1939, his first atelier; Since 1994 it has its seat (Obradoiro de Gaitas Seivane) in Cambre (prov. A Coruña); His two sons, Álvaro (*1952) and José Manuel (*1964), continue the tradition of their father; Assisted by some co-workers they also introduce new developments in pipe making; Álvaro has 2 daughters: gaiteira Susana (*1976) and Saínza (*1984), who assists her father and uncle, as well; NB¹: ➺ Gaita-de-foles (Portugal), and Galleto; NB²: ➺ Seitor.
