Heiland pipes (plurale tantum)
From a poem (on the defeat of the Armada) written in 1598 by Alexander Hume, minister of Logie (1558-1609); McCandless incorrectly spells it "Heilands pipes"; NB (plurale tantum): The term is also used when referring to 1 instrument only.
