Bass drone

low drone, adjustable: cylindrical, bent, no bell, no cavity / single reed

To "reduce" the length, the butt piece has a double (trumpet-like) bend (➺ Absolute / Relative length), the tuning piece one 180° bend; When tuning, its pitch is tested against that of the tenor and baritone drones.

Pitch: D; ca. 1200 mm; Butt piece: 3 joints, connected by 2 metal bends, held together by metal straps.
