high drone, adjustable: cylindrical, straight, no bell, no cavity / single reed
It has the same pitch as the bottom note of the chanter; The lower hand being needed for tuning, however, its pitch is tested against the a¹ of the chanter, and then used as a compass for tuning the other drones.
Pitch: d¹; 205 mm (2 pieces).
