From Pertugio [hole, perforation]; Apparently, according to Gala, a [dialect] term used for the internal canal of a tube; Not encountered as such in other sources; NB: Van der Meer mentions the plural form in Baldano's description of the Sordellina, in which it is explicitly used as the term for the fingerholes.
