Gaita galega

From "chillido" [shriek] ?; Lateral; Usually with a single reed (Pallón); Some pipers prefer a double-reed (Palleta), however, to obtain a stronger sound; Traditionally the only small drone (i.e. Gaita without a Ronqueta), now rare, and replaced by a Ronqueta, or facultatively added as a 3rd drone; NB: ➺ Chillón and Gaita chillona.

Gaita grileira: a² (rare); ~ redonda: g²; ~ tumbal: f² (170 mm); 2 pieces: Prima and Segunda.
