Sunacchi (m) (plurale tantum?)

plural: = singular; (with) definite article: i
(the) ?

Bagpipe, mouth-blown: nr. of stocks? (2-3 pipes: chanter type? / [additional] drones? [in ? stocks])

Identical types: 2

According to Gioielli, "An "unusual" type of zampogna [...]. On the basis of current knowledge it would seem that this instrument is only present in Lucania (Marsico Nuovo, prov. Potenza)"; NB¹: The description (presumably provided by Giuseppe Michele Gala), given on the website (➺ below) reads: "… the Sunacchi (A rudimentary zampogna with 3 pipes with single reeds); Rather enigmatically Gioielli's text («A "zampogna" with 4 parallel pipes with single reeds, with a bag of animal hide, [&c.]») appears to conicide, however, with Gala's description of the smaller Surdulina ("The other ([the] surdulina), [is] smaller in size, with 4 wooden pipes of various dimensional proportions and functioning, with a leather bag and single reeds" [NB²: translations by ws]); Taking in consideration that Nicola Scaldaferri provided a reliable survey of the various parts of the Surdulina, I assume that the terminology mentioned by Gioielli (Ceppone, &c.) refers to parts of the Sunacchi.
