Clearly related to standard Italian "giocare" [to play], this term is probably best tranlated as "He who plays the bagpipe"; NB: Mentioned elsewhere as the nickname of Antonio Cordani (ca. 1805-1882), and said to be transmitted to all the players of his family; Oddly, Grulli refers to it, however, among several (in my perception more plausible) "common" designations, instead, but I haven't encountered it as such in other sources.
