Cărăbăşasca (f)
traditional solo piece for a particular instrument
Probably best translated as "The bagpiper's tune", which was [and still is?] played on a violin, imitating a Cimpoi; Actually, it is the name of a dance, the melody of which was collected, in Belinţ (Lugoj-Timișoara), by Sabin V(asile) Drăgoi (1894-1968), a Romanian composer, folklorist, and pedagogue; The dance was collected in 1934 by an agricultural worker, Nicolae Pătruca-Giura, who was then 57 years old.
