Reggio Calabria, limited to the southern belt of the Aspromonte massif and the coastal area, incl. the "Grecanic" (i.e. Calabrian Greek) communities in its interior; NB¹: According to Leydi, "it is in effect a Zampogna a paro, in which the left chanter is replaced by [sic] a considerably longer pipe"; NB²: Like Leydi, Castagna calls this type a Zampogna a moderna, stating that "it is so small that it doesn't need a key", and estimating its origin as "probably the second half of the 19th century"; NB³: ➺ similar terms (i.e. Zampogna moderna, &c.), and my remark to ? [single reed].
