Zampogna a triplo chanter (f)
(with) definite article: laBagpipe, mouth-blown: 1 stock (double chanter + drone and semidrone) / no additional drones
Modified Zampogna a chiave, developed (in the 1990s) and built by Pietro Ricci (Isernia), who provided the large drone (rear centre) with 2 thumbholes (for the left thumb), thus changing it into a semidrone; The Ritta is provided with 2 thumbholes, the upper of which allows the tones of the chanter to be raised by a semitone, and a "doubled" hole for the little finger (i.e. oo, as in recorders with a "baroque bore"); The Manca is of the common type, but when using "forked fingering" it is now possible to produce 2 extra semitones (B♭ and C♯); The small drone (front centre) is a mute dummy; NB: Compare Sordellina molisana.
Range [Exact pitches (not mentioned by Gioielli)]: Manca: g-a-b♭-c-c♯-d [?]; Ritta: f¹-f♯¹-g¹-g♯¹-a¹-a♯¹-b¹-c²-c♯²-d²-d♯² [?]; Semidrone: D-D♯-E.
NB: Example(s) to be replaced with staff-notation.
