Glasnica (f)

vocal chord

tuning-hole

Identical types: 36

Ventholes in both the actual chanter and Kvaka; Bjelovar-Križevci area (Kapela; Veliki Raven; Ždralovi); NB: ➺ homonyms.

Širola shows (on p.246) an interesting slide-valve for the venthole of a chanter from Ždralovi, constructed by Marko Križan: it is a short tube (inserted in the chanter tube) that can be shoved up and down by means of a peg protruding through the venthole, allowing any position between fully closed and open.
