Cobza (gender unknown)
Dubious French spelling of Koza in Lavignac (NB¹: ➺ Kobza); Actually, Cobza (or Cobză) is the name of the traditional 8-12 string, 3- or 4-course short-necked Romanian lute with its pegbox bent backward; Originally played with a quill, nowadays a long narrow plectrum is used; A similar instrument (Кобза [➺ my remarks to Kobzà]) can be encountered in Ukraine.
