Although very close, as a type, to the Zampogna of Latium and Molise, the 3 main differences are: its 2 drones are always active, and the bore and external shape of its pipes may be different; Its spread in Campania are the Cilento region (prov. Salerno) and the region bordering on the Pollino mountain range in Basilicata; Centres with the presence of pipers are prov. Salerno (21 villages), prov. Caserta (9 villages), prov. Benevento (7 villages) and Monteforte Irpino (prov. Avellino); NB¹: ➺ Basilicata; NB²: ➺ Sampogna.
